“It has not been an easy week, that’s for sure, but we cleared the air and hope to end our campaign in a more than dignified manner,” Osti told Mediaset Premium.

“Montella used a conciliatory tone and was very kind towards me. I respect him as a person and as a Coach. It’s all sorted out now.

“When we signed Montella, we thought of it as a long rapport, as shown by the contract, so that is our intention. As for me, I have another two years on my contract and hope to continue because I am happy here.”

Yet Osti does have a slight dig at the Coach over the brittle reaction to their 3-0 Derby della Lanterna defeat to Genoa.

“I think that in the heat of the moment things were said that could’ve been avoided. He could’ve avoided his comments after the derby.”

There were reports Cassano had been fired via telegram after a blazing row with the club lawyer in the locker room.

FantAntonio is not in the squad today, officially due to gastroenteritis.

“He has another year on his contract, he did what we asked of him and lacked a bit of consistency, but I am satisfied with his season and there would be no problems if he were to stay.”
