The Victor Osimhen saga has been perceived differently by Napoli fans around the world with those based in Italy more inclined to blame the striker and his agent.

Roberto Calenda threatened to take legal action against the Partenopei after the club published a TikTok video seemingly mocking his client for missing a penalty against Bologna.

The post, published on X, received over 1,600 comments and those from the majority of Napoli fans in Italian blamed the player’s representative.

Most Partenopei fans seem to think Calenda made up an excuse to end contract talks with Napoli and find a new club for Osimhen in January or at the end of the season.

There was, however, a first TikTok video that infuriated Osimhen. It was published before the one mentioned by Calenda and compared the Nigerian striker to a coconut.

This first video, which has been perceived as racist, is the reason why most English-speaking Napoli fans are blaming the club rather than their star striker.

In the meantime, Osimhen arrived at the team’s hotel Wednesday afternoon but ignored some of his teammates. He is expected to start against Udinese tonight at the Stadio Maradona and all eyes will be on him and the reception he’ll get from the Partenopei supporters.
