Victor Osimhen will ‘reserve the right to take legal action’ against Napoli, declared his agent, after a video mocking the striker was posted on the club’s official TikTok profile, further fuelling the tension.

The centre-forward was already feeling tense after he was caught on camera berating coach Rudi Garcia following a substitution in the closing minutes of the 0-0 Serie A draw against Bologna.

It had seemed as if the situation was calming down with an apology to Garcia, but this evening the extraordinary statement was released by agent Roberto Calenda.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

The video was of Osimhen appealing for the penalty, using a strange sped-up voice, then he demanded to take it before the video showed him blasting it off target.

It is extremely rare for a player and his agent to take legal action against their club over a social media post.

It is also worth remembering that after months of negotiations, Osimhen has not signed a new contract, so his current deal runs to June 2025.

  1. @ako amadi nothing to do with Osimhen’s race. They trolled him coz Osimhen was beginning to incite rebellion, delaying contract extension as well.

  2. It’s not racism coz it’s not done to you. Will the club have done same to a Federico Chiesa or even an Olivier Giroud? Accept it or deny it, racism is RIFE in Italy. Know it and know peace.

  3. Racism doesn’t have to be verbal or physical, there is a systematic racism, kvara has lost many penalties he wasn’t treated the same. And who says he has to sign contract ?? Is he a slave? Why can’t he sign contract when he wants ?@heedan
