Osasuna’s general director Francisco Canal has announced La Liga side will denounce Torino to FIFA as the Granata owe them €2.8m.

Alejandro Berenguer had joined Torino from Osasuna for €5.5m in 2017, he then moved to Athletic Bilbao this past October in a €10m transfer.

“We had four offers for Berenguer when he was playing for Osasuna,” Canal told Diario de Navarra.

“Torino placed the best one, we agreed to sell him for €5.5m, but we added a clause that obliged them to add an extra €1.5m if he had joined Athletic Bilbao.

“They were due to complete the payment by December 1,” he added.

“We’ll file a complaint with FIFA, they’ll have to pay. There is no way out, the jurisprudence in these cases usually leads to a small penalty for the team that put the clause, but never cancel it.”

According to reports in Italy, Torino are also due to pay a final instalment of €1.3m, which makes the total sum to be paid €2.8m.
