Orlando City owner Flavio Augusto da Silva has revealed that the club are in advanced talks to sign Robinho.

The Milan playmaker has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, with the new MLS outfit the strong favourites to sign the Brazilian.

Flamengo and Santos are also thought to be interested, but the man behind the Florida outfit has claimed that his team are in negotiations with the former Real Madrid goalscorer.

“We are in advanced talks,” he told LanceNet. “But there are still many steps that need to be taken to sign Robinho.

“Milan have kindly granted us permission to negotiate, and this is something we are doing.

“For us, it’s also important that Robinho plays in Brazil for the next six months, as has happened with Kaka.

“I believe we can do a similar deal, but first we have to get Milan to terminate his deal, sign a contract with the MLS and then with us.

“And then we have to find a Brazilian club that will agree to a loan. It’s difficult, but we’ll see.”
