As in previous Champions League games so far this season, Simone Inzaghi has chosen Onana in goal and sent Samir Handanovic to the bench.

This is a head-to-head for second place behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich, who flattened Viktoria Plzen today to confirm their 100 per cent record.

“It is very important for us, knowing what we are going through, it is not an easy situation and a win would be very important today,” Onana told Inter TV.

“This must be extra motivation for us, because the intention is to get through the group. I am convinced that today we’ll have a great game and hopefully we’ll be able to win.”

Barcelona start Champions League legend Robert Lewandowski, who joined from Bayern Munich this summer, along with Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele.

Xavi has completely revitalised this team, winning six in a row in LaLiga to go top of the table, whereas in the same period Inter have lost four.

“They are a great team, but it is important we focus on ourselves. We must stay united, listen to the coach and we’ll have our chances. We too have great players.

“Being able to count on the fans is also a big boost for us. I am convinced we’ll have a great performance, we’ll try to take control of a game that will be difficult, but we’re ready.”
