Olympique Marseille confirm they have completed the transfer of Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez, as Rui Patricio is expected to have his medical tomorrow.

Releasing the Spanish goalkeeper was the necessary step before the Giallorossi could finalise their deal for the Wolves shot-stopper.

Marseille released a statement this afternoon confirming they have reached a definitive agreement with Roma for the loan of Pau Lopez, with an option to buy that could become an obligation.

It’s believed the option will switch to an obligation after Pau Lopez makes 20 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia report Roma have struck a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Rui Patricio.

This transfer will be worth circa €11m including bonuses and the Portugal international is expected for his medical tomorrow.

It is the second deal that Roma have done with Marseille, as the French side also signed Turkey international Cengiz Under on loan with option to buy for a total €8.9m, which can become an obligation once certain conditions are met.

Roma also retain 20 per cent of any future sale.
