As expected, Goran Pandev has signed a new contract with Genoa until June 2022, postponing his retirement.

The striker had hinted he would reconsider his next step after taking North Macedonia to the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament.

His contract with Genoa had already expired and he turned 38 last month.

However, his form at the Euros and in Serie A last season convinced him to carry on for one more year.

Pandev has been at Genoa since 2015, previously representing Inter, Spezia, Ancona, Lazio, Napoli and Galatasaray.

He has accumulated 101 goals and 56 assists in 473 Serie A appearances throughout his career, most of which was spent in Italy.

At international level, Pandev scored 39 times in a record 122 caps for Macedonia.
