The Colombian had been expected to complete a move to the Blucerchiati, but his medical showed a slight injury which could have kept him out for up to three weeks.
That led to reports that Samp would ask for a discount on Muriel’s transfer fee, and it has emerged today that Udinese have cancelled the deal, with Andrea Coda also remaining with the club.
“Udinese announces that it has broken off negotiations with Sampdoria for the transfer of Muriel and [Andrea] Coda.” the Zebrette announced through their official Twitter account.
It’s not clear that Muriel’s future prospects are, with Udinese’s director of sport Cristian Giaretta criticising the player for not performing at Friuli.
