After a late twist that saw Manchester City reject Milan’s latest attempts to sign Carlos Tevez, the Italians have now signed Maxi Lopez.

Late on Friday reports emerged that suggested Adriano Galliani had succeeded in convincing City to hand over the Rossoneri’s primary target on loan.

However, it has now been confirmed that this proposal was in fact rejected by the club’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, affirming Kia Joorabchian’s earlier claims that Tevez would not be leaving City this month.

Subsequently, Milan have now completed a deal to sign Catania’s Maxi Lopez, officially registering a contract with the Italian League this evening. Lopez joins on an initial six-month loan deal that carries an option in the summer to make his move permanent.
