FIGC has revealed Italy’s squad numbers for tonight’s match with Turkey, with Joao Pedro wearing the No.10 and Gianluca Scamacca the No.14.

The Sassuolo striker is expected to start up front with his Sassuolo teammate Giacomo Raspadori and Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo. Scamacca and Zaniolo had been left out of Italy’s 23-man squad list for the match against North Macedonia on Thursday.

Scamacca wasn’t fully fit, while Zaniolo had been ruled out for a technical choice.

Meantime, nine players have pulled out of the team. Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne, Jorginho, Marco Verratti, Domenico Berardi, Gianluca Mancini, Luiz Felipe, Alessandro Florenzi and Matteo Politano have all returned to their clubs. The remaining 24 players are available for tonight’s friendly in Turkey.

Joao Pedro was born in Brazil but has an Italian passport. He made his Azzurri debut on Thursday, coming off the bench in the second half of the match against North Macedonia, who eventually beat the Azzurri with a late goal of Aleksandar Trajkovski. Insigne was Italy’s No.10 in Palermo last week and during the Euros last summer.

  1. Still cannot wrap my head around this nonsense with this washed up player with all we have they still insist on this calling up players that should not even be a thought.

  2. And so, the new era begins — like this! God help us. If he’s not good enough for Brazil, he shouldn’t be good enough for Italy. Is there no young Italian players they could give a chance to???

  3. seems mancini hasn’t learned from previous terrible costly mistakes! who’s jao pedro?!!!
    mancini you must apologize for calling jao pedro. mancini you are a joke!

  4. @jULIAN
    Non are worthy of the 10.
    @Matt I.
    We are defending a manger that is better than Cannavaro, Gattuso or Pirlo all put together Wake up man! Mancini is an experienced manager who has won more than most. There are no options here.
    Another issue which i and many finally seem to speaking out about is… who exactly is there for Mancini to choose from. He can only pick whats there.
    The fact we have had to pick players like this and create Italians will hopefully finally make those above see that Serie A needs to change and force clubs to play home grown talent and cap the number of foreign (EU and NON) players allowed on a pitch at one time. Making teams field 6 Italians per team actually ON THE PITCH playing will resolve things quicker.
    The import thing now is to show a bit of support for the guy and hope those people put these kind of rules in from next season.
    Italian clubs are failing in Europe anyway so now is better than ever as expectations are low and shouts for change are becoming louder
