Fiorentina have officially announced the arrival of French winger Jonathan Ikoné.

The Viola have signed the 23-year-old Frenchman on a five-and-a-half year contract from Ligue 1 side Lille in a deal worth around €14m. He will be unveiled by the Florence side in a press conference tomorrow and he will take the number 11 shirt.

Below is Fiorentina’s statement announcing Ikoné in full:

“ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce the signing of Nanitamo Jonathan Ikone from LOSC Lille on a permanent transfer.

“Born in Bondy (France) on 2 May 1998, Ikone was a key member of Lille’s Ligue 1 title-winning side last season. This year he made his Champions League debut, notching a goal and two assists in five appearances.

“The 23-year-old previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier and has already racked up 157 appearances and 13 goals in Ligue 1.

“The winger also has four senior France caps and one goal to his name.

“Jonathan Ikone, who will wear the No.11 shirt at Fiorentina, will be officially unveiled as a Viola player at a press conference on Tuesday 4 January, at 11:00. The media conference will be managed remotely via Cisco.”

  1. Solid signing. Very talent player and will provide even more ammunition for Vlahovic. Upgrade on Callejon for sure.

  2. That’s a right buy. Poor Lille seem to be selling off everyone atm. Him on one wing + is it Rodriguez on the other? Shame Vlahovic will probably go. That’s a bargain deal too. Those Italian club owners have money, if the govern-in-g bodies could just switch the system up to help clubs rather than to penalise them, then Serie A would be rolling again.
