Newly-promoted Cremonese have officially purchased Italy Under-21 international Giacomo Quagliata from Heracles Almelo.

It is reported the deal was worth €2m plus a 15 per cent cut of any future sell-on fee.

The 22-year-old left-back has four caps for the Azzurrini, scoring one goal, and came up through the Pro Vercelli youth academy.

He moved to the Netherlands and Heracles Almelo in January 2020, making 58 appearances for the club, in which he contributed one goal and five assists.

Quagliata flew back yesterday, had his medical this morning and completed the transfer.

He had also been linked with an extended stay in the Eredivisie with Feyenoord and Vitesse.
