Atalanta have officially signed midfielder Joao Schmidt as a free agent after his Sao Paulo contract expired.
The 24-year-old won the Toulouse Under-20 tournament with Brazil in 2013.
This is his second European experience after a spell at Vitoria Setubal in Portugal in 2014-15.
