Atalanta have officially signed Italy international Cristiano Piccini, on loan with option to buy from Valencia for circa €3m.
The right-back, who will celebrate his 28th birthday in Bergamo later this month, passed a thorough medical on Tuesday.
Piccini’s career has recently been blighted by injuries, as he has not played since fracturing his kneecap in August 2019.
That came after an anterior cruciate ligament tear in January 2016.

He is a product of the Fiorentina youth academy, who had spells at Real Betis and Sporting CP before the €8m move to Valencia in 2018.
Piccini has three senior Italy caps, but his last Serie A appearance was in 2015.
