La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest a lengthy meeting between President Enrico Preziosi and Vice-President Adriano Galliani on Friday finalised the deal.
The official Milan website confirmed the news that their half of Acerbi is sold back to Genoa and they now own 50 per cent of Constant's contract.
Acerbi will return to Genoa with a valuation of €4m, paying for half of Constant’s contract to Milan.
“In all honesty, when the news of my transfer to Milan arrived, I didn’t think I would have so many opportunities to play,” Constant told Tuttosport.
“I knew Coach Massimiliano Allegri respected me, so I worked my socks off to prove I had qualities worthy of Milan.
“I arrived on loan, but I want to stay at Milan. My agent said the clubs discussed it and at the moment they are thinking about buying me out. I am happy, but would prefer to be with the Rossoneri 100 per cent rather than co-owned.”
Constant also spoke about the growing problem of racism in football stadiums, especially as Milan walked off during a friendly with Pro Patria.
“Since I have been here, I’ve never heard racist insults from the stands, not even when I played in Verona which is thought by many to be a racist city. I didn’t see it that way.
“I’ve lived in Italy for three years with my family and never had problems. In my view what happened at Pro Patria was a serious incident, but an isolated one. I don’t think it will happen again.”
