The Delfini had taken a surprise 2-0 early lead in the first game of the season, but were pegged back by a Dries Mertens brace.

“We have only three defenders at our disposal – Alessandro Crescenzi, Guglielmo Stendardo and Andrea Coda – along with some youth team players,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Nonetheless, I want to play this game, regardless of the injury problems. We cannot just go there and defend for 90 minutes.

“We are facing a side with a truly impressive attack, which is also why we must be positive and try to take advantage of the spaces they’ll leave at the back.

“I also want to be clear that nobody here has a guaranteed starting spot and I will pick those who deserve to play.”

Alberto Gilardino makes the trip following his transfer from Empoli, but Oddo warns “none of the new signings will be in the starting XI.

“Gila is a centre-forward, which is what we really missed in the first half of the season.”

Cristiano Biraghi is suspended with Simone Pepe, Gaston Brugman, Norbert Gyomber, Hugo Campagnaro, Davide Vitturini, Francesco Zampano and Jean-Christophe Bahebeck injured.

Pescara squad for Napoli: Fiorillo, Bizzarri, Aldegani, Crescenzi, Stendardo, Coda, Fornasier, Benali, Bruno, Cristante, Memushaj, Verre, Caprari, Gilardino, Cerri, Pettinari, Mitrita, Muric, Delli Carri, Pompetti, Maloku
