Mexico international goalkeeper Memo Ochoa will be able to leave Salernitana at the end of the season, but could remain in Serie A.

The legend will turn 39 in July and although his contract runs to June 2025, there is a clause allowing him to leave for free at the end of the season in case of relegation.

That is practically guaranteed considering they are already 11 points off the safety zone.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms Salernitana have already given the all-clear to let Ochoa leave for free in the summer.

Despite his advanced age, the shot-stopper seems to have no intention of retiring and could well remain in Serie A.

It was a surprise when the man who played in five World Cup tournaments joined Salernitana for free from Club America in January 2023.

He made 40 appearances for the club, keeping five clean sheets and conceding a massive 75 goals.

Ochoa has 148 senior caps for Mexico under his belt.
