Novara are set to borrow two Milan starlets in January to boost their survival prospects, bringing in Stephan El Shaarawy and Mattia De Sciglio.

According to the latest reports, Novara are in advanced negotiations with the Rossoneri for a mid-season loan swoop.

El Shaarawy has found very little space at San Siro since joining and has also been linked with a return to Genoa, but Novara are the latest option for the Italian Under-21 international.

Defender De Sciglio had his first start in the Champions League during last night’s 2-2 draw with Viktoria Plzen.

He too could join Novara on loan for six months to develop his skills.
