Mattia Perin is ready to play Serie B football next season should parent club Genoa be relegated.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper is currently on loan at Pescara, but it is unclear where he will be based in 2013-14.

“Genoa is a dream for Mattia,” agent Matteo Roggi told Sportal. “Genoa is a great place and club, no matter what Division they are in.

“Perin would be ready to fight Sebastien Frey for a first-team shirt – even if I do hope that Genoa do avoid relegation.”

Genoa are currently in the drop zone, two points adrift of survival with six games left to play this term.

Meanwhile, Roggi is unconcerned by the fact that Perin has lost his first team shirt at Pescara to Ivan Pelizzoli.

“Mattia had a shoulder problem and Pelizzoli has been confirmed in the team after some good displays.

“This happens at all levels. Mattia is calm, he continues to work hard in training and he has a good friendship with Pelizzoli.”
