Mario Balotelli looks increasingly more unlikely to head over to Palermo as Liverpool would rather loan him in England.

The striker had been issued an ultimatum by the Sicilian side, who expected an answer to their offer by the end of yesterday.

However no such answer has been provided, and the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Liverpool would rather loan out the player to Everton or Crystal Palace.

Palermo have therefore turned to Frosinone and Carpi, and they'll be attempting to sign one between Daniel Ciofani and Kevin Lasagna.
