With the transfer deadline less than 48 hours away, the Bianconeri will have to hurry if they are to finish the project of reinforcing their midfield.

Multiple sources report that negotiations for both Cuadrado and Witsel are ongoing and very near a conclusion.

Cuadrado's agent has another meeting in London today with Chelsea's directors, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport. The idea is to negotiate a loan deal with the Old Lady, inclusive of a compulsory clause to buy the player subject to a certain number of games being played.

The deal may be linked to the Premier League club's attempts to sign Marcelo Brozovic from Inter, who would free up the Colombian, although this option seems increasingly remote.

Witsel is also reportedly much closer to Juventus, as the Gazzetta, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all claim that a deal is imminent.

Zenit are apparently caving in and they may accept Juventus' offer of €15m, the alternative to which is losing the player for free next year, when his contract expires.

It remains to be seen whether anything concrete will come of these rumours, as the Belgian's move had been announced as imminent many times before, and in relation to a variety of clubs.
