According to whispers, Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has already made initial enquiries with the player's representative.

However, agent Marco Somella has been quick to dismiss such stories.

"My client has always been a Napoli fan, but for the moment there are no negotiations taking place with the Azzurri," he noted.

"Nocerino is a player who is being monitored by a lot of clubs and his career has now reached a point of maturity."

Antonio has been with Palermo since 2008 when he was sold by Juventus in the deal that saw the Old Lady net Amauri from the Rosanero.

Nocerino, a former Under-21 international, has three caps to his name – the last two coming in last month's wins against Slovenia and the Ukraine.
