Roma’s Monchi confirms there will be no transfer deadline day arrivals at the club following the signing of Patrik Schick.

The Giallorossi completed a deal worth up to €42m to sign the Czech forward on Tuesday.

It completes a busy summer in the market for Monchi in his first window at the club, and he now insists Roma’s business is done for the time being.

“It’s the final presentation of a new player in this window,” the Spaniard said at the unveiling of Schick as a Roma player.

It completes a busy summer in the market for Monchi in his first window at the club, and he now insists Roma’s business is done for the time being.

“It’s the final presentation of a new player in this window,” the Spaniard said at the unveiling of Schick as a Roma player.

“There won’t be other players coming in.”

The director of football then explained that each transfer decision is taken in accordance with Coach Eusebio Di Francesco.

“Each decision taken is analysed with the Coach. All squads can be improved, even Cruyff’s or Guardiola’s Barcelona.

“But you have to have the financial means to be able to do it.”

Monchi added that he is satisfied with Roma’s business this window but he would not compare his performance to that of predecessor Walter Sabatini.

“Roma have made a big effort within its means and I am satisfied.

“I am not completely happy because I am ambitious.

“The mark? More than enough, but I still need to study it.

“And don’t say I’ve beaten Sabatini, it’s not a battle between us.”
