Emanuele Giaccherini says he expected to be named in the latest Italy squad – despite not yet appearing for Juventus this season.

The Turin squad player hasn’t featured in any of his club’s first two League games, but will start on the left of Italy’s 3-5-2 against Bulgaria this evening.

“I played 25 games for Juventus last season and I don’t feel pushed to one side by the national Coach,” the former Cesena man noted.

“My inclusion was a surprise for you, but not for me because I’m certain that I will find some space this season.

“For now I am tightly keeping a hold of the faith that Cesare Prandelli has in me.

“I’m ready as I was three months ago when I made my debut in the opening game of Euro 2012 against Spain.”
