Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini changed his tune on Javier Pastore again. “Chelsea never offered €50m – I wouldn't have turned that down!”

The patron has continually adjusted the price-tag of his star player and claimed at one point that he had rejected a huge offer, suggesting “one foot is worth €50m.”

However, Zamparini revealed that was nothing but a bluff on the transfer market.

“How could anyone turn down €50m cash for Pastore? I never saw such an offer. Do you think if they put that money on the table, that I would throw them away?” he told Il Giornale.

“I don't know if Chelsea ever made this offer. It might've been to his agent, but it never reached me. If it did arrive, then I would think about it carefully.

“Pastore is a player worthy of top clubs, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Milan or Inter.

“He is tied to the Palermo jersey, but he also looks at his wallet. How can I keep a player when elsewhere they are offering four times his current wages?

“We have already mapped out two teams with our new Coach Stefano Pioli: one with Pastore and one without.”

The patron also looked back at the Coppa Italia Final and is still furious at the 3-1 defeat to Inter.

“It always goes wrong for us when we face them and it's not because they are the stronger team.

“If the referee books Mauricio Pinilla rather than awards him a penalty, then sends off Ezequiel Munoz and on top of that Delio Rossi lets Inter play on the counter, then it's over. At the end of the day, Inter, Milan and Juventus are all the same…”
