Davide Nicola warns “it won’t be easy” at Udinese but “that’s what makes reaching an objective all the more satisfying".

The former Crotone Coach has replaced Julio Velazquez, and he was officially presented to the media today.

“I thank him, because he did everything to get results, which are fundamental to us. As a fellow Coach, I can see that he gave his all.

“I think the job we do is an incredible one, when you think that you have the chance to give emotions to so many people.

“It won’t be easy, but that’s what makes reaching an objective all the more satisfying.

“Many Coaches before me have made history. I admire [Francesco] Guidolin, I read an interview of his recently. Udinese represents excellence, the need to encounter and work with different cultures.

“I haven’t seen all the players yet, but I can see the potential then lads have. I’m really hungry to start working with these lads.

“It’s essential to get the most out of every member of the squad. I’m here because I demand a lot from myself, and I’ll dedicate a lot of time to the lads. My football is about organisation, and I want everyone to be involved.

“After working with the lads, I will be much more precise when asked about what the team can do. Now we just need to adapt, I’ll try to get 100 per cent from every player in the squad, then I want to prove to the fans that I can play a brave style of football, albeit with the right balance.

“Objectively the fixture list is not kind, we will have Roma and Sassuolo, then Inter and Atalanta – all competitive opponents.

“If we could choose the fixture list then we’d pick something else, because we’re facing teams who, on paper, have more quality.”
