Fiorentina confirm German Pezzella has suffered a thigh injury on international duty, and will return to Italy for treatment.
The centre-back was called-up by Argentina for the double-header with Mexico, but he now faces a spell on the sidelines.
“ACF Fiorentina announces that, during yesterday's training with his national team, the player German Pezzella suffered a muscular injury to his left thigh,” the Viola said on their official website.

“The scans carried out in Argentina today confirmed a lesion between the first and second degree to the biceps femoris.
“The player will return to Florence in the next few hours to begin his therapy and rehabilitation program.
“Also today, Bartlomiej Dragowski returned from his national team due to bruising to the right shoulder which prevented him from continuing with his commitments to Poland.”
