The Giallorossi icon has previously hinted at interest in playing in the United States and today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the interest is reciprocal.

According to the publication, the midfielder is the object of contention for two clubs from New York, and whilst they do not name which, Calciomercato surmise these to be NASL's New York Cosmos and MLS' New York Red Bulls.

The player's contract expires in summer 2016, when the clubs are hoping he may join them as a free agent.
