There were 369 deaths related to COVID-19 in Italy over the last 24 hours, but also 94 left intensive care and 8,014 were given the all-clear.

The pandemic response is now in Phase Two, as the curve has flattened considerably over the last couple of weeks.

Today’s death toll has jumped up to 369, taking the total to 29,684, but this is also because of older numbers that hadn't been registered as COVID-19 cases, 222 of them in Lombardy.

Today’s death toll has jumped up to 369, taking the total to 29,684, but this is also because of older numbers that hadn't been registered as COVID-19 cases, 222 of them in Lombardy.

However, the number of active positive cases plunged by 6,939, largely thanks to the fact 8,014 were declared fully recovered.

That is by far a record for Italy, as the previous daily all-clear count was only 4,693.

It means the total number of people in the country who contracted coronavirus and recovered is 93,245.

Another 94 patients left intensive care, leaving 1,333 throughout the country.

Out of 64,263 tests performed since yesterday, only 1,444 were new positive cases, with 52 per cent of those coming from the Lombardy region.
