Juventus Vice-President Pavel Nedved insists he didn’t mean to attack Giuseppe Marotta – “he was a great teacher for us”.
The director has joined Inter as CEO for sport, and his former colleague declared over the weekend that he “was never a Juventino”.
“What I said could have been seen as an attack on Marotta,” Nedved admitted at the Golden Foot awards.
“He was a great teacher for us. I was just a bit hurt that Marotta went to Inter, always our rival. It hurt me a bit, that’s all.”

Marotta was also asked about the comments, and was similarly conciliatory.
“Now I’m at Inter and it’s not an easy task after many years at Juve. Pavel and I are now football enemies, but life goes on.
“Now it’s up to me to launch a team which hasn’t been at the top in recent years.”
