According to the newspaper Cronache di Napoli, the Azzurri have offered the Mexico international a five-year contract with wages of €2.7m per season plus bonuses.

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been in contact with the player’s representatives, and the Neapolitans are hoping his agent Mino Raiola can help all parties reach an agreement for a much lower fee than the current €50m asking price.

Partenopei Coach Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a huge admirer of the 23-year-old since watching him in the World Cup last summer, as well as his former protégé James Rodriguez, but has reportedly asked for the Mexican to be signed first.

The former Pachuca youth team product missed the last few weeks of the season with a knee injury, but still managed to score 21 times in 40 matches between league and cup competitions.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in signing the winger.
