Napoli supporters have expressed their dissatisfaction over the decision taken by the club to only sell tickets for the away leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Milan online and not give priority to those who have previously attended away trips.

The choice to only make tickets available to purchase online means that anybody with a season ticket was eligible to buy one during the first release of tickets.

The Curva A section of the Napoli supporters were furious with the measures taken by the club, which they believe has denied many ultras the opportunity to attend the game in Milan.

Curva A released a statement earlier on Thursday expressing their anger at the decision to put all supporters on the same tier, denying preferential treatment of the ultras.

A press release issued on behalf of the Curva A supporters read: “Another abuse, yet another spite. After 400 of us have been present in more than 100 stadiums abroad, whilst others rest in their armchairs.

“Today they are stealing our right, above all a moral one, to be present in Milan denying us the possibility of buying tickets.

“On this occasion, we would  have done it in a more orderly and controlled way. But the illustrious Aurelio De Laurentiis refused the proposal.

“In this way anyone can buy a ticket and go on an away trip ‘without supervision’. ADL has thus decided that those who have never been on an away trip have the same right as those who have always been there.”

The first leg of the tie between Napoli and Milan will take place in San Siro on Wednesday April 12, kicking off at 20.00 UK time.
