Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Ferrero commented on the Soriano shenanigans as well as the drama surrounding Eder, who was insistently requested by Inter.

Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Ferrero commented on the Soriano shenanigans as well as the drama surrounding Eder, who was insistently requested by Inter.
“As you can see, Eder remains a Sampdoria player,” he said, confirming his statements before the closing of the transfer window.
“For Soriano there was a long discussion with Napoli because of the player's own wishes, but since negotiations turned out to be so complex, it means it was probably never meant to be.
“I'm very happy that Soriano is ours. It was a difficult process of negotiation because the player is currently in Coverciano [with the national team].
“I don't understand why the transfer market had to close at 23:00, we weren't able to get everything ready by that time even though there was an agreement between myself and [Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis.
“Believe me, I'm very happy that my great gem Roberto Soriano is staying with us.
“The operation for [Napoli's Juan Camilo] Zuniga was connected to Soriano's.
“As for Eder, Inter and other teams put pressure on us, but since Sampdoria don't need to sell out, we didn't let him go.
“Only if the player wants to leave can we start talking money.
“How do I evaluate our transfer campaign? 'A' plus.”
