Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski was subbed off in the final minutes of Poland-Sweden yesterday with a suspected thigh injury.

The Poland international scored the second goal of the night for his country but had to leave the pitch at minute 87 due to a potential thigh injury. The 27-year-old seemed to touch the flexor of his left thigh while walking out of the pitch and he will probably undergo medical examinations upon his return to Napoli today.

Zielinski celebrated Poland’s win with his teammates after the match, so Napoli hope his injury isn’t a lengthy one.

The Partenopei are in the race to win the Scudetto, sitting just three points behind table leaders Milan. Zielinski has played 35 games across all competitions with Napoli this season, scoring seven goals. Luciano Spalletti’s men visit Atalanta when Serie A resumes on Sunday.
