Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could become the first player since 2006-07 to reach double figures for goals and assists in the debut season in a top European league, while Victor Osimhen could be the first Napoli player to score in seven consecutive games in the three-point era.

Both stars are expected to start for the Partenopei tonight in the opening match of Serie A round 23 against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

Osimhen is Serie A’s leading scorer with 17 goals in 18 appearances. The Nigeria international has scored in each of the last six Serie A matches and could become the first Napoli player in the three-point era, so since 1994-95, to find the net in seven league games in a row.

As highlighted by Opta, Kvaratskhelia is also chasing a record in this evening’s fixture in Reggio Emilia.

The Georgia international has nine goals and as many assists in Serie A this season and could become the first player since 2006-07 to reach double figures for both in the first season in a top European League. The last player able to do so was former Juventus star Diego with Werder Bremen.
