Napoli are reportedly ready to more than double Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s salary in order to tie him down to a long-term contract.

The Georgia international has been a revelation in his debut Serie A season, contributing to the Scudetto victory with 12 goals and 13 assists in this tournament.

He was snapped up for just €11m over the summer and his value on the market has climbed to at least €70m.

Still only 22 years of age, Napoli are eager to make sure he cannot be tempted away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and are working on a new contract.

His current salary is only €1m per season, so the Corriere dello Sport suggests the next deal would comfortably double that to €2.5m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

The expiry would also be moved from June 2027 to June 2028, hoping to put off the chasing pack.

Napoli generally dislike release clauses and would resist putting one into the contract.
