Reports in Italy reiterate that Napoli are indeed talking with Manchester United over a proposed move for Marouane Fellaini.

Initial indications of the Vesuviani’s interest in the 26-year-old were played down in the peninsula at the start of this week.

However, on from reports in Britain suggesting the Serie A side’s interest is genuine come similar reports from Italy.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is running the line that Napoli have entered into negotiations with the Old Trafford side over a proposed deal.

However, it is seen that negotiations are only at an early stage and that where the Partenopei are pushing for an initial loan move, United are asking for as much as €25m for the midfielder.

The Gazzetta dello Sport see a similar situation, but suggest the asking price may be closer to €19m, whilst the Corriere dello Sport suggest any loan would still cost between €3m and €4m, in a deal that they see Fellaini as very much pushing for.

Il Mattino follow this up with the suggestion that it was the player’s entourage that asked for a meeting with sporting director Riccardo Bigon, which has then prompted talks to open.

The Naples publication suggest, though, that any move for Fellaini may only be completed once Napoli know their fate after the Champions League Play-off round.
