Napoli have submitted their first concrete offer for Hamed Junior Traore and are now waiting for Sassuolo’s response.

The 22-year-old Ivorian winger has been one of the stars of the Neroverdi’s season, proving himself to be a talented and exciting young prospect. Traore has netted eight goals in 29 appearances across all competitions this season and he seems destined for a move to a big club in the summer.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Napoli have presented an offer to Sassuolo worth €16m plus add-ons for Traore, a good first step in negotiations. The Neroverdi will not accept, however, as they’re hoping to earn around €25m from his sale.

Juventus remain interested but they’re no longer in a strong position in the race to secure his signature; when Sassuolo bought Traore from Empoli in July 2019, there was a gentleman’s agreement in place with the Bianconeri, who had the choice to buy him within two years. This agreement has now expired and Napoli can secure his services, should they submit the right offer.
