Napoli were reportedly offered Mattia Perin by Genoa, but they still prefer Geronimo Rulli of Real Sociedad.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is almost certain to leave at the end of the season, as his contract is expiring and Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to offer more than a year on a new one.

It appeared last summer that the Spaniard would move to Paris Saint-Germain, which saw Napoli pursue Rulli as a replacement.

Ultimately Reina remained at the San Paolo, but the club still need to find a long-term replacement.

Yesterday reports began to emerge that they were in talks for Perin, but today La Repubblica reports a different angle.

The newspaper claims that Perin was offered to both Napoli and Milan, who were given the chance to buy him for €10m in June.

However, Napoli are still keen on Rulli as they’re impressed by his physicality, considering him stronger and heavier.

Milan, meanwhile, would only make a move for Perin if Gianluigi Donnarumma were to leave.
