Napoli are reportedly willing to spend €25m on Lucas Torreira if Arsenal refuse to let the midfielder leave on loan.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli are keen to bring in Torreira next month, hoping to capitalise on his uncertain status in North London.

The Uruguayan has started just seven Premier League games this season, and the newspaper claims the Partenopei will ask Arsenal about taking him on loan.

Failing that, it is claimed they would have no qualms paying the €25m the Gunners are demanding for his services.

In the meantime, Il Mattino believes Napoli will not firm up their interest until they know for certain if the 23-year-old has a long-term future at Emirates Stadium.

That will only be known once Arsenal appoint a permanent manager to replace Unai Emery.

Milan have also been linked with the former Sampdoria star in recent months.
