The striker's entourage already has an alleged deal with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and are encouraging Lapadula to make it happen, stressing that he could well play alongside Gonzalo Higuain rather than just as his replacement.

The Vesuviani also have their eyes on a more exotic target, that being Ponte Preta's attacking midfielder Leandrinho.

The 17-year-old stood out at the U17 World Cup with Brazil, and he spent last weekend at Castel Volturno, visiting the club and the city.

However, competition for the young Verdeoro is harsh, and Napoli may back down if the likes of Manchester City make a very substantial offer.
