Napoli and Manchester United continue negotiations for Marouane Fellaini, even if there remain gaps on amounts to be paid.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Vesuviani’s push to land the Belgian midfielder on an initial loan deal has now been accepted by the Red Devils and that discussions with sporting director Riccardo Bigon over details are currently ongoing.

However, it is understood that the two clubs remain a distance apart in money due on any potential deal.

The Premier League side are believed to be asking that Napoli pay out €4.5m for an initial loan for Fellaini, but Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly budgeting to pay out a maximum of €2m.

It is also reported that De Laurentiis is only prepared to pay €2m for the player’s €4m salary, with expectation that Manchester United will pay out the rest during the loan.

Whilst there remains these differences, all parties are seen as eager for a deal to be reached.

Rafa Benitez is seen as pushing to have the 26-year-old in time to allow him to be included in Napoli’s Champions League squad.
