Napoli have joined Roma and Premier League sides in asking for Real Madrid centre-back Nacho Fernandez.

It was reported in yesterday’s edition of Marca and the Corriere dello Sport today that the Giallorossi had offered to take Nacho on loan with option to buy for around €5m.

However, now Marca note Napoli have been alerted to the opportunity and made their own proposal for the 26-year-old.

The Partenopei have long been seeking a centre-back to reinforce their squad and the €25m price-tag has put them off Torino’s Nikola Maksimovic.

Nacho would be a much cheaper and more experienced figure, joining another ex-Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol.

Both Serie A sides also face competition from Premier League clubs, but Real Madrid could opt not to release him considering the imminent transfer ban.
