Napoli announce their captain Lorenzo Insigne has undergone a swab test after developing symptoms of flu.
The Partenopei have released a brief statement on their official Twitter account, providing an update on their star striker who is currently out of action with an injury.
“After suffering from mild flu-like symptoms Lorenzo Insigne didn’t take part in training today,” the statement read.
“He then took a lateral flow test which came back inconclusive and is now waiting on the outcome of a PCR test. The results are expected within a day.”
Napoli host Spezia at the Stadio Maradona tomorrow in their last game of 2021.
Insigne missed two of Napoli’s last three games with a calf injury.
