Thousands of Napoli fans are already at the airport awaiting the return of the squad after their victory over Juventus, which isn’t expected until 2am.

A late Kalidou Koulibaly header secured the 1-0 win in Turin and cut the gap at the top of the table to just one point with four rounds remaining.

This set off wild celebrations in the streets of Naples, including fireworks and people diving into the fountain in Piazza Trieste e Trento.

It’s all building up to when the team returns and that means a reported 5,000 have already flocked to the Capodichino Airport.

By 1.30am local time, the crowd had doubled to an estimated 10,000.

Napoli’s flight isn’t expected until at least 2am local time, yet the roads are so jam packed that people are leaving their cars in the queue and walking to the airport.

There were even reports the police would postpone the flight in order to protect public safety.
