Representatives from Napoli were in attendance at a ‘summit’ with the mayor of Naples, members of the interior ministry and local police authorities over plans for the impending Scudetto victory celebrations.

Napoli have laid out their expectations for two celebratory events to take place in the city when they win Serie A: an inevitable ‘spontaneous’ event when the title is mathematically confirmed and an official celebration at the close of the season in June.

The Partenopei could confirm their league title if they win their next four games, in which case, the first set of celebrations would commence on May 3 after the away trip to Udinese

An official event will be held in the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona once the season is finished in June and will later move on to a different location somewhere in the city.

The Piazza del Plebiscito has been identified as the ideal location for the events later in the day, whilst other areas such as Piazza Mercato, Piazza Ciro Esposito and the former NATO base in Bagnoli are also being considered.

Wherever the festivities take place, there is expected to be a heavy police presence in the city as Napoli look set to confirm their first league title in 33 years.
