Napoli’s official radio station claims the club are in the final stages of a deal for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.
James has been linked with Napoli all summer, and Radio Kiss Kiss is confident a breakthrough is close.
“The Colombian is waiting for a call from his agent Mendes to tell him the official status [of negotiations] because we’re now on bonuses and details,” said the station in its latest update.
However, it later clarified the transfer was not imminent and would take time to go through.

Cadena COPE, meanwhile, claims the 27-year-old will not join up with Los Blancos for preseason, on the grounds that ‘he is transfer-listed and the subject of a move that is at an advanced stage’.
The same would apply to Milan-bound defender Theo Hernandez.
