Napoli are reportedly confident of renewing with captain Lorenzo Insigne, who wants to finish his career at the Partenopei.

The Azzurri forward’s current deal expires in June 2022 and his agent Vincenzo Pisacane has, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, started discussing an extension with the club.

The newspaper reveals Insigne earns €4.5m a season in his current contract and claims Pisacane will ask for further €1m a year to sign the renewal.

But the Partenopei captain’s negotiation should be an easy one, as both parties want to continue together and the winger is reportedly adamant he wants to see out his career in Naples.

The 29-year-old has struggled with some muscle injuries during the first months of the season, but has been in fine form when available.

So far, he has contributed three goals and one assist in six Serie A games this term.
