Napoli have started talks with Brighton in a quest to sign talented Norwegian defender Leo Ostigard.
The 22-year-old spent the last six months of the 2021-22 season on loan with Genoa, where he stood out as one of the better performers in the squad. Despite looking a little raw at times, Ostigard clearly has potential and already possess a good level of physicality.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is currently in talks with Brighton’s management as he looks to try and reach a deal for Ostigard, a player he believes would compliment Luciano Spalletti’s backline perfectly.
The Campania side are confident that a deal can be closed for less than €10m, a price which seems like a bargain considering his talent. This deal could also become significantly more important should Kalidou Koulibaly leave in the coming weeks; Aurelio De Laurentiis would be willing to sell the Senegalese defender for around €30m.
